### Digester Flow Dynamics & Mechanical Operations

The core reactor operates on a horizontal **continuous plug-flow regime**, enforcing a strict hydraulic retention time (HRT) of 2030 days with minimal back-mixing, ensuring complete pathogen reduction and volatile solids destruction. Organic feedstock is continuously introduced via heavy-duty, positive-displacement piston pumps or high-torque dual-screw feed conveyors. Inside the reinforced concrete vessel, a slow-rotating, segmented longitudinal paddle agitator prevents crust formation and heavy-grit sedimentation, gently homogenizing the high-viscosity matrix and facilitating efficient biogas release without disrupting the linear plug displacement.

### Thermal Regime & Energy Recovery

The plant maintains a strict **thermophilic regime (5055C)**or alternately high-mesophilic (3842C)regulated via external heat exchangers and wall-integrated heating jackets coupled with digester liquid digestate recirculation. Raw biogas (6065% $\text{CH}_4$) is desulfurized, dehumidified, and routed to high-efficiency combined heat and power (CHP) reciprocating gas engines. The recovered electrical output is exported to the grid, while jacket water and exhaust gas waste heat sustain the reactor's thermal load, achieving maximum parasitic energy offset and high net thermal-electrical efficiency.
