This facility employs a high-rate, single- or two-stage **Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR)** system designed for the continuous wet anaerobic digestion of source-separated organic fraction municipal solid waste (OFMSW) and agro-industrial residues.

* **Digester Flow Dynamics & Feeding:** Prepared organic feedstock is dosed continuously via automated positive displacement pumps and progressive cavity macerators to maintain a stable organic loading rate (OLR) and continuous hydraulic retention time (HRT: 2030 days), preventing shock-loading and hydraulic dead zones.

* **Mechanical Mixing:** Homogenization is driven by centrally mounted, low-speed mechanical agitators paired with submersible side-entry propeller mixers to ensure uniform substrate distribution, disrupt floating scum layers, and prevent bottom grit accumulation.

* **Thermal Regime:** The system operates strictly under an automated **mesophilic regime (37C 1C)** or **thermophilic regime (52C 1C)**, maintained via external shell-and-tube or internal helical heat exchangers coupled with thick polyurethane reactor insulation.

* **Biogas Upgrading & Energy Recovery:** Raw biogas is desulfurized, dried, and upgraded using a multi-stage **Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption (VPSA)** or **Membrane Separation** train, yielding biomethane (>97% $\text{CH}_4$). The product gas is compressed to pipeline operating pressure (typically 1670 bar) for continuous **grid injection** or virtual pipeline dispensing. Parasitic heat requirements are recovered via CHP heat-recovery loops or dedicated biomethane-fired water boilers to optimize the facility's overall thermal efficiency.
